Caramel pie recipe Eagle Brand milk

Cook on high for 8 hours (either do it before you go to bed or to work, either way you won’t be there to wait for it to do it’s magic.)

After 8 hours, carefully take it out of the hot water and BE CAUTIOUS and open the can while they are hot. It has spewed on me before, just aim the can AWAY from you when you first punch through with the can opener.

Pour both cans into the pie shell and smooth out with a rubber spatula. Sit on the counter and let cool down for about an hour and then put into the fridge for 2 hours.

Once cool, add the whipped topping on and take all the credit for the best caramel pie your friends have ever eaten!

I have been making and baking pumpkin pies for 50 years and have never used eagle brand sweetened condensed milk in my pumpkin pies .I cannot imagine a home made real pumpkin pie using sweetened condensed milk unless it is some sort of concoction that is not baked There is just no comparison to a home baked pie I use a can of evaporated milk
Libby pumpkin can has the famous Libby pumpkin pie recipe on the back of the can ,that is what I use except I use 1/2 cup more sugar and increase the cloves to 1/2 t.cloves
